UNESCO World Heritage
Episcopal Complex of the Euphrasian Basilica is situated in the Historic Centre of Poreč, in Istria, and it is one of the most valuable and best preserved monuments of Byzantine art in this area. Thanks to that, it has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 1997.
This complex was built in 6th century and it consists of the basilica, a sacristy, baptistery and the bell tower, the parish church, the bishop’s palace and Maurus’ Oratory, which was the first religious object in this area.
Visitors can also enjoy many beautiful examples of religious architecture, sacred monuments and preserved mosaics of early Christian art.
